About Judy

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, elopement or renewal! I had started my career 35 years ago performing marriages as a magistrate in a courthouse. I loved performing marriages as part of my job. I retired as a magistrate of 30 years, was elected as a county commissioner, and then got back into what I love to do. Marry couples! I have performed over 700 weddings in Northern Michigan, including Mackinac Island, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinaw City, Petoskey, etc. This experience has allowed me to appreciate the variety of service couples desire. Flexibility in tailoring each ceremony to the couples wants is available. Often, this is the most exciting and enjoyable part for the couple.

I can assist the couple in shaping their wedding. I have performed sand, rock, candle and stepchildren ceremonies, along with many different denominational marriages. No wedding too big or too small.

I am always available to answer any questions – even if it’s just about the area or other local vendors.

Judy was so wonderful to work with. From out first phone call to when we parted ways after our ceremony, she was nothing but warm, friendly and professional. Judy was very accomdiating to our elopement, from the day and time and the location. Not everyone would be so happy and willing to show up on the snowy beach of the Straits of Mackinac on a sunny, windy day. I cannot recommend WEddings by Judy enough!!!

Judy is the best! Judy met with me a head of the wedding to go over the day and show me her various script options for the ceremony, and allowed me to change or add whatever we wanted. She is very prompt and professional. She directed us all at the rehearsal so the actual ceremony would go smoothly. She made our ceremony perfect & I wouldn’t want anyone else to have officiated our big day.

Judy is seriously such a sweet person. She made everything go so smoothly. I had no idea how this whole process worked, so she sent me an entire outline of the ceremony with multiple different options on how we could word things to cater it to us as a couple. She helped add additions in for the unity part we wanted. I really felt as if we had a unique ceremony geared personally towards our life together as a couple.

Judy was a total pleasure to work with. Our backyard wedding was slightly unconventional, and she rolled with it beautifully. She is professional, well-spoken, and has exactly the right demeanor (and height!) for an officiant. I also love her accent 🙂 She gave some great tips for our day as well. Judy was amazing! My husband and I highly recommend using her as your officiant. We got married in Mackinaw City on short notice and Judy accommodated us so well. She sent us the script so that we could go over it ahead of time and allowed us to make any changes we wanted. She responded to messages quickly and made everything feel less stressful. She was very professional, personable, and friendly!
